Charles E. "Casey" Root is a fourth-generation Californian. As a native of Paso Robles and with a lifelong footing in agriculture, Casey started his education in one of California's last one-room schoolhouses. After a 12-year stint in the cattle and grain business, Casey began to pursue other interests—a real estate broker's license, a pilot's license, and construction and transportation were all explored. In 1992, with commitment from his lovely wife Caroline, they ventured into the real estate publishing business. From that beginning, Wild Pete Publishing was born leading to an entire range of published products.
